In this blog, I will delve into the brainstorming and reflective process that guided me toward my final idea. From mind maps to self-reflection, I captured and organized my thoughts on paper.

In my first mind map, I personally compiled a list of different photography genres that I thought might pique my interest. Creating this visual representation helped me in several ways—it allowed me to see the possibilities laid out in front of me, organize my thoughts in a structured manner, and visually assess the potential directions I could explore in my photographic journey.

Choosing nature as my preferred genre prompted me to delve deeper into the subject, sparking the need to organize and structure my ideas more comprehensively.

Given the fine art nature of my project, I shifted my focus towards conceptualizing ideas. It was at this point that I decided to explore conflicts and contrasts within the realm of nature, aiming to infuse deeper meaning and artistic expression into my work.

Following my decision to explore textures in nature, I further developed the concept by contemplating the transition from natural to human-built environments. This stage involved creating a mind map where I explored various textures that I could potentially capture in the process.
The utilization of mind maps proved to be an invaluable tool in my creative process. It facilitated a deeper exploration of the nature photography genre, allowing me to immerse myself in various facets and possibilities. The visual representation of ideas not only sparked exploration but also served as a reflective exercise, enabling me to ponder over potential directions and concepts.
One significant advantage of the mind maps was the ability to organize my thoughts systematically. As I listed genres, concepts, and textures, the mind maps provided a structured framework, allowing for a clearer understanding of the connections between different elements. This organizational aspect contributed to a more coherent and purposeful development of ideas.
Furthermore, the mind maps played a crucial role in aiding my decision-making process. By visually assessing the options laid out in front of me, I could make informed choices about the direction of my project. The mind maps served as a roadmap, guiding me through the intricate landscape of ideas, concepts, and potential visual elements.
