Embarking on the development of this project necessitated multiple excursions into the natural world, where I sought to shoot a variety of textures in diverse settings. The journey involved immersing myself in different environments, each contributing unique visual elements to the narrative. This commitment to capturing a rich variety of textures became a foundational aspect of the project, underlining the project's essence in exploring the relationship between nature and human-built structures. The deliberate choice of diverse locations set the stage for a visual journey that unfolds across landscapes, each texture telling a distinctive story.
I initiated my exploration of textures in the locality of Marsaskala, near Jerma. The closed hotel, adorned with graffiti, stood as a prime attraction, offering a rich tapestry of textures. Despite the closure, I seized the opportunity to capture compelling shots from the exterior, leveraging the graffiti as a textured backdrop. Additionally, the rugged rocks lining the sea provided another layer of texture, adding to the visual diversity that would later become integral to the project's narrative. This initial foray into Marsaskala set the tone for the project, laying the foundation for an exploration that would span various locations and textures.

On another dedicated day of shooting, I ventured to the outskirts of Siggiewi, commencing my photographic exploration from the limits of Girgenti and extending towards Għar il-Kbir, adjacent to Dingli. This expansive area presented diverse canvases, each offering a unique interplay of textures. However, it became apparent that the inherent characteristics of the terrain, while captivating, limited the variance in textures. Despite this constraint, the day's photographic endeavors contributed to the project's narrative by capturing the subtle variation and distinctive textures that characterized the rugged beauty of the landscape.

Another noteworthy day of shooting unfolded in the serene surroundings of St Lucia. Commencing from the surroundings of the Garden of Serenity and gradually moving within its confines, the experience was marked by a captivating variety of textures. What distinguished this location was the untraditional nature of the textures, mirroring Chinese architecture and design principles. This unique approach added an extra layer of depth to the project, infusing it with a diverse visual language that deviated from the conventional. The textures captured in St Lucia brought an intriguing and culturally influenced dimension to the overall tapestry of the project.

One of the culminating shoots for this project unfolded in the charming setting of Marsaxlokk. This particular session marked a departure in my approach, as I strategically captured images that I knew would yield compelling results. Drawing on my extensive experience with double exposure techniques, previous experiments, and the wealth of images collected throughout the project, I approached the shoot with a refined understanding of what would work effectively. This intentional and calculated strategy added a layer of certainty to the final stages of the project, allowing me to curate a collection that showcased both my expertise and the intricate textures unique to Marsaxlokk.

During one of our school practicals in a different lecture, I kept the essence of this project in mind and seized the opportunity to capture additional textures in Buskett. This dual-purpose approach allowed me to not only fulfill the requirements of the school assignment but also contribute to the ongoing exploration of textures for my personal fine art photography project. The limits of Buskett offered a new backdrop and diverse textures, enriching the visual tapestry of the project with each additional shot.

In reflection, I am saisfied by the experimentation undertaken throughout this project. This deliberate choice to explore various techniques and settings not only provided a broader canvas for selecting final photographs but also granted me invaluable experience within the genre. The commitment to the experimentation allowed me to delve deeper into the difference of capturing textures in diverse environments, ultimately enriching my understanding in this photography genre.
